Blood Red Summer

Erik Fincher was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He started playing the guitar at age 11 and has never put it down. Originally he was leaning towards the bass guitar due to the Rush Album “Moving Pictures”, until he heard AC/DC’s “Back in Black”; Glen Tipton of Judas Priest and Eddie Van Halen play guitar and he determined right then and there that he wanted to play lead guitar.
Forming his first rock band when he was 14, Erik turned the unused family garage into a rehearsal studio complete with egg crate walls where he and his band spent hours writing and rehearsing songs. During his formative years, Erik was in countless metal bands and played at street fairs, parties and clubs throughout Los Angeles.
Involved in the music business ever since, it wasn’t until 2001 that he left the local scene and crossed into the professional music world as a highly respected Guitar Technician touring with the biggest names in the hard rock/metal world.
He began his professional road career working for Static-X as Guitar Tech, later Tour Managing Meshuggah, Ministry and Jello Biafra, (formerly with the Dead Kennedys) and has toured the world with such bands as Lamb of God, Megadeth, Motley Crue, Mudvayne, Ozzy, Pantera, Papa Roach, Slipknot….and well, the list goes on.
In 2009 Erik retired from the touring circuit as a Technician and Tour Manager to pursue his own music. Erik and Ross have known each other since 2002 and upon hearing of his “retirement”, Ross asked Erik if he would be interested in joining Blood Red Summer and the two have been collaborating ever since.
Erik met his wife in the 7th grade and attended the same schools together. They later married and have a teenage daughter.
